Some of our favorite places in Cusco:

Coricancha

The Great Sanctuary of the Sun

The religion of the Incas was the one that sustained the social life of the Inca empire. The God, maker of all things, was the invisible “Wiracocha”, represented by the visible Sun God, who was worshiped as “Tayta Inti” who It had its temple or sanctuary. Not only did the God Sun have it’s temple, but other gods such as Lightning, Thunder and Lightning, The Rainbow, Venus and The Moon also had it’s temples. Places of fine architecture and impressive assembly of stones, today they can be admired during our excursions. It is the most important monument of colonial architecture.
It is the center of expressions of art, wealth and lavishness.
In 1538 its construction began, and it was inaugurated on August 15, 1668.
The Cathedral has two lateral churches, to its right the church of Jesús José y María and to the left the Capilla del Triunfo. Inside it offers you countless works of art, worthy of contemplation and admiration. Pieces of art that were mostly made by indigenous and mestizo hands, from the Cusqueña school.
